As 2012 approaches us, you need to do some planning for your blogs in the new year. Google is always changing and the updates this year tell a pretty good story. SEO will be even more crucial to your blogs success in 2012. Here are some SEO tips for 2012 to ponder.

Easy SEO Tips 2012
Regular posting schedules. The more content you publish, the better chance Google will pick up on it and it also enables more crawling of your site. Not only that, it allows the opportunity for you to rank based on more topics and keywords. It also keeps a steady stream of visitors and interest in your blog.

Unique Content. Nothing new here, right? Now more than ever, Google is emphasizing fresh, unique content. Not spun or rehashed gibberish. One thing to always strive for is a unique point of view. This allows you the chance to take an old topic and make it new.

Update Poor Content. Specifically, check for duplicate content. Oh how Google despises this. So go back and check all your pages and ensure they are all unique. Get rid of poor quality posts that have no user engagement or rankings. UNLESS, you can revive them and make them bold and fresh. In this instance, you will have a whole new audience and chance to rank.

Visual Aids. One of the posts I wrote was on infographics. Infographics being the new link bait. Same applies for visual aids. Google will be placing more emphasis on visual aids, infographics and images in general. Personally, I feel this is more of an enhancement then a requirement, but it’s also another chance at optimizing. Using image alt tags and titles will help you rank for content and images. Two chances to dominate Google.

Branding. I read this today and thought it was so good, I would show it to you.

"One of the big changes to hit 2012 will be the focus on branding. Make sure your business stands out from the crowd and has its own identity. At the very least, this relates to weeding out the duplicate content on your site, but more so it means working on your content to fit within your brand. The more unique you sound, the better this will be towards your own identity and hence you will stand out from your competitors. And although needless to say, social media. Becoming one of the most imperative factors in off page SEO, don’t forget your social media strategy.
